2 Five 9
Auckland trio '2 FIVE 9' combines the considerable talents of drummer and frontman Greg Tell, bassist Alex Griffiths, keyboardist Michal Martyniuk and featuring guitarist Dixon Nacey.
Their sound is a cool blend of jazz infused with vibrant funk and latin grooves. Drawing on many styles of jazz as well as funk, latin and R n B, their repertoire ranges from mellow to booty-shaking. Both original and 'standard' selections are treated to unique and ear-catching interpretation.
Well-known on the Auckland live scene for regular appearances at venues such as 1885 Basement, and the Britomart Country Club, and for popular shows at the 2010 and 2011 Queenstown Jazz Festivals. Not to be missed!
